Colophon & Build Notes

How this site is built, published and kept portable across shared hosts.

Architecture

The publication is generated by a Python build script from versionable Markdown content. The result is static HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SVG and a JSON search index. No database, PHP service, server-side JavaScript or paid service is required.

Design

The palette combines parchment, muted forest, copper and night colors. The emblem and night landscape are original vector illustrations generated for this project, not historical source imagery.

Hosting

The site is structured for a conventional Apache-style document root, including Name.com shared hosting when static HTML is supported. All paths are root-relative; deploy to the domain’s configured document root, not an arbitrary subfolder.

Journal

Journal Markdown lives in content/journal/. GitHub stores revisions and its workflow builds a ZIP artifact; the public site remains separate from GitHub availability.

Source and review

The historical articles use a limited verified bibliography with direct links. The bibliography is not a certification of complete archival validation.
