Geographic continuity and change
Town names may recur across centuries even as physical, political and cultural settings alter. A modern coordinate can help readers orient themselves without placing an unrecorded meeting at a specific point.
Avoid false archaeological precision
The archive’s map uses town centroids and an explicitly approximate Brazzano-area pin. It avoids invented “battle sites,” which are especially misleading when the testimony describes an experience occurring in spirit.
Future research
Archival maps, parish records and documented court locations could support more precise historical mapping. Any new coordinate should include source, period and location type before it is promoted from a contextual marker to an evidenced site.
